California interior design firm House of Honey is launching their second annual artist residency at their Montecito, California studio in collaboration with art consultancy and gallery network Art Solutions. The residency will proudly celebrate the work of Iness Rychlik.

House of Honey’s ethos as a company is rooted in female empowerment through the support of female artists and women-owned businesses. Rychlik’s work was particularly inspiring to the team at House of Honey due to their shared love of storytelling.

Rychlik’s photographs will be on display at House of Honey’s Montecito studio which will be open by appointment Monday through Friday, from 10:00am to 6:00pm, starting on December 11th.

Iness Rychlik is a Polish-born artist, based in the UK. Despite her severe myopia, Iness has been dedicated to visual storytelling since her early teens.

Iness Rychlik is recognized for her dark surreal self-portraits; exploring themes of pain, solitude and vulnerability. Since she suffers from a chronic skin condition, Iness uses her own body as a canvas for artistic expression. She draws on her deeply personal experiences, often reflecting on growing up in a conservative and patriarchal society. The subtle elegance of Rychlik’s compositions contrasts with an underlying aura of brutality. Her conceptual photographs provoke the viewer’s imagination, rather than satisfy it.
